Sections of Montego Bay in St James were left flooded on Friday after heavy rains.

Creek Street and William Street were among the major roadways that were flooded, causing motor vehicles to be partially submerged in water.

Some persons were marooned on one side of the road while school children had to be assisted to cross the waters by men with hand carts.

Last year, some $20 million in damage was estimated after flood waters ravaged some of those same sections of Montego Bay.

Just last week, while in Montego Bay, Prime Minister Andrew Holness mandated Minister Daryl Vaz to correct the drainage system in St James to alleviate the flooding on the roadways.
