Wanted man, person of interest killed by cops in Ocho Rios

Two men who were on the agenda of the police in St Ann in relation to a number of serious crimes across the parish, were shot dead by members of the constabulary on Wednesday morning in the Parry Town area of Ocho Rios. The deceased are 34 year old Kirkland Gowe, otherwise called ‘Sauce Man’, and 23-year-old Cabrina Rose, who were fingered as members of the ‘Teacha’ gang.

Reports are that about 8:00 a.m., a police team was on patrol duties in Ocho Rios, when information was received that suspicious men had been seen entering a building.

The police team responded and upon approaching the building, they were reportedly greeted with gunfire.

A shootout allegedly ensued, after which the police said the two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

A revolver with one live round of ammunition, and two spent casings, were seized.

Two other men, who are believed to have also engaged the police team, escaped.

Gowe was reportedly wanted for shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm and of ammunition, robbery with aggravation and absconding bail.

He was suspected of involvement in a number of robberies in the Ocho Rios area, with Rose being a person of Interest in relation to those same crimes.
