One of Westmoreland’s most wanted was arrested and charged in the Cayman Islands for the offences of illegal landing and possession of ganja with intent to dupply during a narcotics operation on Friday, August 18.


He is Obrian Ellis, unemployed of Farm Pen district in Westmoreland.


Ellis is wanted in Jamaica for arson and the murder of 44-year-old Steadman Sterling, a chef of Farm Pen district in Westmoreland in December 2016.


Reports are that Sterling and Ellis were involved in a dispute when it is alleged that Ellis used a firearm to shoot Sterling several times. Ellis later fled the country.


Ellis is expected to be extradited to Jamaica within the coming weeks.
