Controversial South West St Catherine Member of Pariament (MP), Everald Warmington on Sunday questioned whether politics was fueling the crime wave currently affecting Jamaica.

"Ask yourself the question, 'Is it an accident that crime is where it is today?'" Warmington said. "I want to say to you that it is not an accident... I know that some believe that if we don't have high crime, Labour party can't lose."

He made the comments while speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party  Area 1 council meeting in St Catherine on Sunday.

The outspoken MP expressed optimism that the establishment of the Zones of Special Operations will successfully tackle criminal elements in the society. Watch the video.
