Three basic schools across the island will benefit from newly upgraded facilities come September.

This after corporate giants Sagicor, through its foundation, donated a total of $12 million to the AME Basic School in Clarendon, Haughton Grove Early Childhood in Hanover and D'Frank Early Childhood in Manchester.

The three schools were the beneficiaries of the Sagicor Foundation's Adopt- a- School programme for 2017/2018.

President and CEO of the Sagicor Group, Christopher Zacca this week outlined the importance of supporting the early childhood sector.

He was speaking at the Handing over ceremony of the newly rennovated and expanded facilities at AME Basic School in Clarendon.

A grateful Principal, Assyndia Facey-Wright lauded the group and detailed how the donations have helped her school obtain certification.

Stakeholders from the Early Childhood Commission say the programme has been transformative while lauding the company.
