Video: Ross Sheil pushes digital evolution in local firms

Ross Sheil slept on a couch when he first came to Jamaica from London.
London-born Ross Sheil has called Jamaica home for the past 13 years.
But speaking with him would suggest he’s been here much longer, possibly Jamaica-born, except with a British accent.
A graduate of the London School of Economics, Sheil landed his first job here as a journalist at the Gleaner Company.
He later joined the Jamaica Observer before moving to Digicel where he worked in sales and marketing.
Shiel now operates his own business.
It was a natural progression for him to start his company - Sheil Consulting, a company that helps organisations (private and non-profit) build their brand and promote their messages through social media and digital platforms.
“I’ve learnt so much in Jamaica, the country has completely developed me and I thought that after working for 10 years, I could start my own business,” Sheil told Young People in Business.
Sheil considers himself Jamaican, and is keen to contribute more. He also insisted, he’s here to stay.
“When I came here, I slept on the coach of a friend,” he said. “My life is here, my wife is Jamaican, my son is Jamaican.”
