Jamaica’s road safety officials are concerned that Clarendon is emerging as a new hotspot for motorcycle accidents as road deaths figures in the parish continue to rise.

According to Canute Hare, director of the Road Safety Unit at the Ministry of Transport, Clarendon has climbed above St Elizabeth and Hanover and now ranks third in motorcycle fatalities in the island. The parish trails only Westmoreland, which has the most deaths, and St James.
