Jose Marti's Pete Murphy, using the stage name DJ Igloo, was recently crowned champion of the SunCity FM High School DJ Competition.

He defeated DJ Talawah of Calabar in the finals at the Portmore Pines Plaza.

The finals had three rounds, with both contestants doing well in the first two, before nervousness became the separating factor, as Talawah, whose birth name is Frederick Smith, wilted under pressure in the third.

DJ Igloo walked away with $100,000 for the win, Calabar's Talawah $50,000 and DJ Simpo of Kellits High, who finished third, $20,000.
