VIDEO: Mixed reactions after states of emergency voted out

Government's crime fighting strategy was dealt a serious blow on Tuesday when Opposition members of parliament voted against extending states of emergency in three sections of the island.

It means that, when the SOEs - in St James, the St Catherine North police division, and the Corporate Area - come to an end on different dates in January, they will not be renewed, allowing residents and businesses in the affected areas to get back to regular activities.

Loop News reporter Job Nelson and videographer Marlon Reid went into sections of Arnett Gardens and Denham Town, two of the communities affected, to get the views of residents and business interests. Watch the video.
