A man was shot and killed in a drive-by gun attack in the Swallowfield area of St Andrew on Friday.

Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., the man who was later shot, left the Stadium Police Station and was walking towards Swallowfield Road, when he was attacked by a group of men who were travelling in a motorcar.

“Just minutes after he left the police station and was walking on the road, men drove up to him in a car and opened fire, hitting him several times, then drove away,” an alleged eyewitness told Loop News.

The sound of gunfire drew a police team to the area, where the injured man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sources told Loop News that the man had gone to the police station to report on a condition of bail.
