Jamaica recently hosted the staging of the Caribbean Youth Summit, the premier transformational youth leadership development event within the region.
Over 100 participants from the Caribbean offered speeches, research papers, and cultural presentations at the summit, which aimed to provide an opportunity for youth leaders and policy makers.
Held under the theme, “Re-routing our GPS: Governance, Peace and Security” this year, the summit was convened by the Caribbean Regional Youth Council (CRYC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MoEYI) in Jamaica, Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) of the University of the West Indies, The United Nations Population Fund and other key public and private stakeholders to celebrate Caribbean Youth Day on September 30.
