Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for South East Clarendon, Pearnel Charles Jnr, and outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Rudyard ‘Ruddy’ Spencer, were all at Vere Technical High School in the parish on Wednesday for the nomination of Charles Jnr for the March 2 by-election in the constituency.

Holness, especially, and Charles to some extent, fielded a host of questions from the media on the by-election and both constituency and national concerns, including a few interesting political developments over recent days.

From democracy to development, economic growth and opportunities, to water shortages on the Vere Plains of Clarendon which includes much of South East Clarendon, the national leader and the now hopeful constituency leader both took the time out to address media queries.

Somewhat more sedately, Loop News got Spencer to pull aside from the frantic pace of the governing party’s activities of the day, to take a short but direct route into the whirlwind transition from him to likely, Charles Jnr, at the helm of the constituency. Watch the video below, which was done by Marlon Reid.
