Video: Fire brigade gets over $30 million boost from US Embassy

The Jamaica Fire Brigade recently received a significant boost to its capacity courtesy of the US Embassy in Kingston.

Minister of Local Government Desmond Mckenzie, who was present at the handing over ceremony, said the equipment will go a far way in saving lives.

He went on to note that the long-standing relationship between the island and the US has always resulted in significant benefits to the people of Jamaica.

Eric Khant, Charge d' Affaires, US Embassy in Kingston commended the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development for its commitment to enhancing Jamaica’s preparedness for emergencies.

Deputy Commissioner, Jamaica Fire Brigade, Warren Malcolm, in expressing his gratitude to the donors, said the equipment will assist in meeting the strategic objectives of the fire department.
