VIDEO: In Di Booth looks at artistic struggles through Iyahtek’s eyes

Ever listened to a hot dancehall or reggae track and wondered what, where or just who was behind the awesome cocktail of vibes?

Well, Loop Jamaica has, and we are more than willing to share our findings.

Loop Jamaica takes you ‘In Di Booth’ with our all new edutainment series that brings you behind the scenes of music, the Jamaican way.

Some of Jamaica’s biggest names in music have been known to excel against all odds over the years, including overcoming extreme poverty and other challenges like the heartbreak of not having a father or any parent to call their own.

This week we kick things off with an inside look at the struggles of the typical Jamaican artiste through the eyes of Oniel Maxwell, who goes by the stage name, ‘Iyahtek’.

Take a look at the video below for a sneak peek at the production of Iyahtek’s new single ‘Knocking’, including how a mango tree pretty much saved his life.
