Video: Carib Cement, police host spell off for East Kingston youth
Created : 6 November 2017
Carib Cement recently partnered with the Eastern Kingston Police Division to host a spelling bee Competition for children of the Greater Brown’s Town community.
The competition was the brainchild of community members who sought to bring about a positive change for Greater Brown’s Town, which has recently seen an upsurge in violence.
Deputy Superintendent of the Eastern Kingston Division Keisha Scott noted that Carib Cement and the police are hoping to make the competition an annual event.
Meanwhile, Carib Cement said the company was proud to work closely with its neighbours.
“Competitions like this allows them (the children) to be stars in their own right and anything that can give them that spark is something that we want to be a part of,” said Sophia Lowe Pinnock, Public Affairs Manager at Carib Cement.
