The Government has been presented with 3,000 bags of cement by Caribbean Cement Company Limited, to assist with recovery efforts following the damage caused by heavy rainfall across the country last week.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness thanked the cement company for the contribution to the national recovery efforts, and noted the private sector's continued support for the development of the country.

He encouraged other private sector entities to assist in the ongoing recovery efforts.

Representatives from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) received the cement on the Government's behalf.

A number of Government agencies have been actively engaged in recovery works across the affected communities, this while representatives of the Social Security Ministry and the parish municipal corporations have been distributing relief supplies in the most affected areas.
