Video captures policeman shooting driver, chaos in Clarendon

A bus driver who was shot by a policeman in Spalding, Clarendon remained in critical condition up to late Tuesday evening, Loop News has been informed.

“The last report we heard was that he was to undergo surgery,” one taxi operator who operates in Spalding told our news centre.

Reports are that about 11:30 am Tuesday, the bus driver and the policeman became embroiled in an argument after the law enforcement officer attempted to seize the transport operator's vehicle.

In video footage obtained by Loop News, the driver appears to push the cop before charging towards the lawman. A tussle ensued and the driver was shot multiple times.

The development triggered a fiery protest as residents and colleagues of the transport operator damaged a police vehicle and used debris to block the road.

Police are at this time are still maintaining a presence in the area.
