Randy McLaren has now found the perfect opportunity to pursue his life-long passion of operating a business and effecting social change.

The youth empowerment advocate and cultural performer has employed 10 persons from inner-city communities and rural Jamaica to manufacture a variety of bags through Bresheh Enterprises.

McLaren, started the company in 2015 with his younger brother Davian, who heads the production and design arms of the business.

“The approach we take is to ensure that everyone has an opportunity and to look out for those who are most vulnerable in our communities,” Randy said.

Indeed, contributing to the community has brought returns for Bresheh, with sales steadily growing from both local and international markets.

The bags are being sold in a few local outlets including Azan’s and an assortment of bookstores but sales primarily come from direct orders more specifically Bresheh’s social media pages.

Additionally, the growing popularity of Brand Jamaica, and its mantra of championing all things local has increased demand for Bresheh’s products.

Randy hopes to expand the production facility to employ more people, and introduce even more products.
