Vendor who was shot in Mona has died
The vendor who was attacked and shot near Mona Primary School in St Andrew on Friday morning, has died.
Reports are that the vendor was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was taken for treatment.
He has been identified as Dane Howell of a St Andrew address.
The police reported that at about 10:30 a.m., the vendor was sitting close to the educational institution selling items, when two men on a motorbike drove up and stopped close to him.
One man from the bike pulled a firearm and opened fire, hitting the vendor several times.
The men then left the area.
The sounds of gunfire brought a temporary halt to normal activities at the nearby school.
The police were called to the scene and the vendor was found on the ground with several gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
