Uncle Frank upstages I Am Di One in Saint Cecelia Cup
Created : 11 September 2019
Champion trainer Wayne DaCosta's 5-2 chance, UNCLE FRANK, on Wednesday upstaged rival Anthony Nunes' 1000 Guineas winner, I AM DI ONE in the six-and-a-half furlong Saint Cecelia Cup at Caymanas Park.
I AM DI ONE and EXHILARTE surprisingly ran themselves ragged on the lead, setting up late-running five-year-old gelding, UNCLE FRANK, to outfinish six-year-old mare, ZEPHYR, after both attacked Nunes' pair as a team, a furlong and a half out.
Trainer Patrick Lynch dominated the 11-race card with a three-timer, TALENTED TONY K, MONEY MARSHALL and SHE'S IRIE in the third, fifth and seventh races, respectively.
Apprentice Daniel Satchell was aboard TALENTED TONY K and SHE'S IRIE, emerging the day's leading rider.
Racing continues on Saturday.
