Two suspects held for Good Friday murder of chef from Tivoli Gardens

The police are reporting that they have apprehended two men who are suspects in the killing of a 27-year-old chef from Tivoli Court, West Kingston on Friday.

The two men were held in an operation that was carried out in the Kingston Western Police Division over the weekend, a detectives close to the case told Loop News.

“The men are now in custody and are being questioned and could be charged very soon,” the officer said.

Police reports are that the murder victim, Andrew Bennett, was shot and killed on Chapel Lane in the police division.

Reports are that about 10:30 p.m., Bennett was at his cook shop conducting business, when he was attacked and shot several times.

The attackers then made their escape from the area.

The police were called and Bennett was rushed to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
