Two held in relation to farmer’s murder and suspected rape in Trelawny

The Trelawny police are now interrogating two men who they took into custody during their probe of the gruesome murder of a woman whose naked body was found on her farm by members of her family.

The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old farmer, Valerie Thompson, of Clark's Town, Trelawny.

Family members made the gruesome discovery when they went to look for her after she did not return home as usual on Thursday evening.

Police believe Thompson was raped then killed by her attackers.

According to reports, Thompson left her home at about 8:00 a.m. to attend to her farm.

An alarm was raised by members of her family after she did not return home up to 6:00 p.m.

During a search of the farm, the woman’s naked body, with its head partially severed, was found lying on the ground.

The two suspects who are being questioned are said to be members of the Clark's Town community.
