tTech, Carreras lead stock gains
Cigarettes and intormation technology led gains in Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
tTech, which offers IT back office services, gained 10.3 per cent to close at $6.00 while cigarette distributor Carreras gained 9.8 per cent to close at $10.52.
The day's biggest loser was Ciboney, down 10 per cent to close at $0.09. Kingston Properties dipped 7.07 per cent to close at $6.18.
JSE Combined Index advanced by 506.34 points ( 0.17 per cent) to close at 297,559.66.
The JSE Index advanced by 725.57 points ( 0.25 per cent ) to close at 289,850.09.
The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 796.36 points ( 0.25 per cent) to close at 318,127.47.
The JSE Select Index advanced by 34.49 points ( 0.40 per cent) to close at 8,698.83.
The Junior Market Index declined by 14.96 points ( 0.52 per cent) to close at 2,845.91.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.05 points ( 1.19 per cent) to close at 169.56.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 52 stocks of which 25 advanced, 16 declined and 11 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 116,795,927 units valued at over $1,178,761,611.81. WISYNCO was the volume leader with 111,757,051 units (95.69 per cent)followed by Ciboney Group Limited with 1,851,345 units (1.59 per cent) and ELITE with 633,886 units (0.54 per cent)
