Trelawny man linked to murder shot dead
The Falmouth police are probing the murder of a man who was shot and killed by unknown assailants while he sat in his motorcar in the Trelawny parish capital on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Everton Shields of a Falmouth address.
Reports are that about 9.30 pm, Shields was sitting in his motorcar along Market Street in the town, when he was pounced upon by gunmen who alighted from a motorcar that had been driven up. The men opened fire, hitting Shields multiple times to the face and other parts of the upper body.
He died on the spot.
Shields was recently released from the custody of the Falmouth Police Station, where he had been held for questioning in connection with last month's killing of a man in another section of the parish.
However, the police have so far not establish any connection between Thursday night's shooting and last month's killing.
