Trelawny farmer dies after his bike crashes into a pole

A Trelawny farmer died from result injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash along a roadway in the parish early on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Veto Clarke of Friendship district, Trelawny.

Reports from the Constabulary Communications Network (CCU), the police’s information arm, are that about 3:45 a.m., Clarke was driving his motorcycle along the Bounty Hall main road, when upon reaching in the vicinity of the Tillson Housing Scheme, he lost control of the bike, which collided into a pole.

He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Citizens assisted him to hospital, where was pronounced dead on arrival.

Saturday's fatal accident came on the heels of the death of 75-year-old Mannassie Hall of Peel Street, Falmouth, Trelawny, who was mowed down by a motorcar in his community on Tuesday.

And two Thursdays ago, an elderly pedal cyclist died as a result of injuries he sustained in a hit-and-run crash in the parish.

Personnel assigned to the Traffic Division and stationed at the Falmouth Police Station are investigating the incidents.
