Trelawny businessman who raped minor to be sentenced Wednesday

A Trelawny businessman who pleaded guilty to raping a minor at knifepoint, in the Trelawny Circuit Court last week, will return for sentencing on Wednesday.

The accused is 47-year-old Deon Adams, who is also known as 'Killer', of a Stewart Castle, Trelawny address.

Allegations are that in 2012, Adams posed as a taxi operator and picked up a 12-year-old girl who was going to school.

He then drove the car to a remote area and held the minor at knifepoint and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

Two years later, he was arrested and charged after he was spotted by the minor who pointed him out to a relative.

Adams had maintained his innocence up to last week, when he changed his plea to guilty after the release of DNA test results.
