Trainer Gary Subratie looks set to score with Soul Cure and My Sister
Trainer Gary Subratie looks poised for back-to-back two-timers at Caymanas Park, SOUL CURE and MY SISTER, in Wednesday’s sixth and seventh races, respectively, after Saturday’s feat of scoring with Sarah Barracuda-foaled siblings, two-year-old WOW WOW and three-year-old CRIMSON, for owner-breeder Michael Bernard.
SOUL CURE lost by a stinging short head to Philip Feanny’s CRYPTOCURRENCY on July 6 at five and a half furlongs and also went down in a driving finish in her previous race, nabbed at five furlongs straight by imported stablemate, SHE’S AN INTROVERT, who ran Guineas runner-up TOONA CILIATA to a length in her subsequent race.
SOUL CURE is well drawn at post-position nine where the track bias will suit her at five furlongs straight in the 10-horse field with champion jockey Anthony Thomas aboard.
MY SISTER, which has leading rider, apprentice Christopher Mamdeen, aboard at five and a half furlongs in an open overnight allowance, faces twin threats from Feanny’s MY SUPER GIRL and champion trainer Wayne DaCosta’s LOTTERY TICKET.
MY SUPER GIRL is coming off a non-winners-of-four victory, making all at six furlongs. However, she is fresh to the class and will have run-on sprinters MY SISTER and LOTTERY TICKET to contend with in the stretch run.
LOTTERY TICKET ran terribly a week ago at a mile, finishing third-to-last in a race won by stablemate DYSFUNCTIONAL. However, her true form was exposed in her previous race, failing by a half-length to catch ZEPHYR in the Ahwhofah Trophy at six furlongs on June 1.
MY SISTER was outsped from a poor draw, post-position one, at five furlongs straight in her last race behind by YAYA’S DREAM, DRUMMER BOY and SIR JHUNJHUN WALAH. She will prefer the round course and is quite effective at five and a half furlongs.
First post for the 10-race card is 12:50 p.m.
