Over 50 awards were earned as part of the November 2017 event with several schools and other groups.
The Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ) in its efforts to reduce the number of heart-related diseases, has partnered with PROVEN in an education and engagement exercise in schools and the workplace via the PROVEN Run for your Heart Lapathon and Family fun day.
Seeing participants from mainly schools across the corporate area, top performers were recently rewarded at a presentation ceremony at the Altamont Court Hotel.
Over 50 awards were earned as part of the November 2017 event with several entities such as Immaculate Conception Prep School, Hillel Academy and St. Hugh’s Prep and the Jamaica Defence Force walking away with top prizes.
Excited students, humble teachers, supportive parents, engaging partners and competitive spirits were the main features as they vied for attractive prizes while raising funds for heart health.
Title partners, PROVEN now in the second of a three-year commitment highlighted the significance of supporting the event. “PROVEN stands aligned with one of the several missions of the Heart Foundation - prevention through education – to engage students and by extension their families, to think and strive to be heart healthy.” noted Belinda Williams Head of Marketing & Communications. “This ties into our personal corporate social mandate; as it is our belief that true wealth can only be realized through a sound investment in one’s health.” Williams said.
