Toona Ciliata takes Viceroy Trophy

Title-chasing jockey Dane Nelson on Saturday booted home two winners for champion trainer Anthony Nunes, including TOONA CILIATA in the Viceroy Trophy, reducing rival Anthony Thomas' lead to 11 atop the riders' standings.

Nunes and Nelson first teamed up for victory with FURTHER AND BEYOND, a full brother to this year's 1000 Guineas and Oaks winner, ABOVE AND BEYOND.

FURTHER AND BEYOND, who was outsprinted by Wayne DaCosta's MINIATURE MAN, at four furlongs straight on debut, clocked 1:12.4 for six furlongs in the fourth event.

Aboard TOONA CILIATA, Nelson forced through along the rail past DaCosta's SIR ALTON, a reversal of the four-year-old gelding's poor run in the Chairman's Trophy a month ago.

TOONA CILIATA easily stalked the pace from third while his stablemate, UNIVERSAL BOSS, pressed SIR ALTON on the lead in the one-mile open-allowance/graded stakes event.

TOONA CILIATA pounced coming off the home turn and ran through along the rail to clock 1:36.2 on a fast track.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park with the Jamaica Derby on Saturday followed by a  Sunday meet.
