Investigators have since theorised that a gang feud was likely behind a brazen daylight gun attack in which three persons were shot, one fatally, in the St John's Road area of Spanish Town, St Catherine on Thursday.

The deceased man has been identified as 20-year-old Shamar Smith of St John's Road.

Police reports are that at about 3:00 p.m., Smith and two other men were at a house in the St John's Road area, when men armed with guns entered the building.

The intruders opened gunfire on all three occupants before fleeing the scene.

The police were alerted and upon their arrival, Smith succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The two injured men were assisted to the hospital, where they remain admitted.
