Three more COVID deaths, 135 new cases

An additional three COVID-19 related deaths and 135 new cases were recorded across Jamaica on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The deceased are an 84 year old female of a St Catherine address, a 46 year old female of a St Elizabeth address and a 68 year old male of a Clarendon address

The latest fatalities bring the death toll from the coronavirus in Jamaica to 80.

The 155 new confirmed COVID-19 cases bring the total number of cases on record for the island to 5,723. Recoveries increased by six, bringing total recoveries to 1,496.

Of the newly confirmed cases, 69 are females and 66 are males, with ages ranging from one month to 92 years. The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (78), St Catherine (14), St Elizabeth (11), Clarendon (11), Portland (eight), St Ann (four), St Mary (three), Manchester (two), St James (two) and one each for St Thomas and Westmoreland.

Forty-four moderately ill patients and seven critically ill patients are among the 4,063 active cases now under observation in Jamaica.
