Three guns seized in St James; six held in connection with find

The St James police’s efforts on Monday resulted in the seizure of three illegal firearms and over 30 assorted rounds of ammunition during two operations in the parish.

Reports are that between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., a team of officers conducted an operation at a premises in York Bush district in the parish, where they seized a 9mm Taurus pistol with a magazine containing fourteen 9mm rounds; a Browning 9mm pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds, along with six .38 cartridges.

Six persons were taken into custody in relation to the seizure.

Their identities have been withheld, pending further investigations.

Only minutes later, another operation was carried out in Glendevon, where a disassembled 9mm Beretta pistol was seized.

No one was arrested in connection with that seizure.

Police investigations continue into both finds and seizures.
