Three-gun kid? AK-47, M16 among weapons linked to suspect
Trelawny police seized three illegal firearms, including two high powered rifles, during an operation in the parish on Monday.
A man and a woman have been taken into custody in connection with the seizure of the weapons - an AK-47 rifle, an M-16 rifle and a 9mm pistol - two of which were allegedly found at a home belonging to one of the suspects.
Reports from the Falmouth Police are that about 11:30 am, during an operation on the Kerry Park main road, the driver of a motor car was stopped.
The vehicle, the driver and a passenger were searched and a Beretta pistol with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition was reportedly found.
Further investigations reportedly led officers to Samuel Prospect in the parish, to the home of one of the suspects.
A search of the premises was carried out and an AK-47 rifle, an M16 rifle, and 52 cartridges were seized. A number of lead sheets apparently used for lottery scamming were also reportedly retrieved.
Both persons were subsequently taken into custody. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
