Three Costa Ricans charged in St Elizabeth ganja bust

Three Costa Rican nationals, believed to have illegally entered the island, were arrested and charged in connection with a ganja bust in St Elizabeth during the wee hours of Thursday morning.
Reports are that about 2:00 am, during an anti narcotics raid by members of the St Elizabeth and Narcotics police, a house was searched in the Ridge Pen, Pedro Plains area of St Elizabeth. During the search, ganja, weighing three pounds was reportedly seized.
The three Costa Ricans who occupied the house were taken into custody and subsequently charged for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act and the Immigration Act.
They are booked for appearance in the Balaclava Parish Court on Tuesday, April 23.
