Third suspect being sought for woman’s murder, 'rape' in Trelawny

The Trelawny police are now seeking a third individual in their probe of the gruesome murder of a woman whose naked body was found on her farm by members of her family who went to look for her after she did not return home as usual on Valentine's Day, February 14.

The deceased is 59-year-old farmer, Valerie Thompson, of Clark's Town in the parish.

The police already have two men in custody in connection with the killing and suspected rape of Thompson.

The police theorised that the victim was raped before being killed by her attackers.

According to reports, Thompson left her home at about 8:00 a.m. to attend to her farm.

An alarm was raised by members of her family after she did not return home up to about 6:00 p.m.

During a search of the farm, Thompson's naked body with the head partially severed, was found lying on the ground.

The two suspects who are presently being questioned, are said to be from the Clark's Town community.
