Teenager killed during robbery attempt on Constant Spring Road

In addition to two shooting deaths reported in Hanover on New Year’s Day, a mystery shooting of a young child in bed in St Andrew, and the stabbing death of a Calabar High student, a young boy, aged about 15 years, also died violently in St Andrew on the first day of the year.

The youngster, who has not yet been identified, was stabbed on Constant Spring Road between Central and South avenues in the vicinity of Savannah Plaza.

The incident reportedly took place as the teenager was walking home early on New Year’s morning.

He was reportedly approached by men who are believed to have robbed him of a cell phone then stabbed him.

The teenager was pronounced dead at hospital.

Police investigations are continuing into the incident, which has been confused with the almost simultaneous fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Calabar High student Stephan McLaren on Hagley Park Road, reportedly as he was heading home from a New Year's Eve party.
