Teenager allegedly held with gun, ammunition in Portmore

A teenager has been charged with breaches of the Firearms Act following the seizure of a gun and several rounds of ammunition on Weetom Crescent in Portmore, St Catherine on Friday, November 22.

Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is 19-year-old Daveion McDonald of Weetom Crescent.

Reports from the Portmore police are that about 7.02 pm, while police officers were on patrol in the area, McDonald was accosted and searched and the firearm was taken from his waistband.

He was subsequently arrested and charged.

His court date is being finalised, the police advised.

Investigations continue into the find and seizure.
