Teen booked for ‘killing uncle after being accused of stealing $2,000'

A teenager has been charged for allegedly killing his uncle who had earlier accused him of stealing  $2,000 in Annotto Bay, St Mary on Sunday.

The accused, 18-year-old Lamar Hunter, alias 'Toby', has been charged with the murder of 44-year-old Omar Morlock, otherwise called ‘Scar'. Both men are residents of Dry River district in Annotto Bay.

According to the police, Hunter was at home when Morlock accused him of stealing $2,000.

A dispute then developed between the two relatives.

Further reports are that Hunter left the house and was walking along the roadway, when Morlock followed him.

Hunter then reportedly used a knife to stab his relative in the chest, the police said.

The wounded man was assisted to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hunter was subsequently arrested and a knife was taken from him.

A date for his appearance is being finalised by the police.
