Taxi driver stabbed to death on Washington Boulevard
A taxi operator who plies the Duhaney Park to Half-Way-Tree route was fatally stabbed close to the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Patrick Drive in St Andrew on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as ‘Keno’ or ‘Juvenile/Buminile’, a 30-year-old of Kingston resident.
Reports are that about 8.00 pm, the taxi operator was driving along Washington Boulevard when he reportedly got into a heated argument with another man.
There are conflicting reports as to where the man who subsequently carried out the attack came from.
Some persons who gathered at the scene of the crime claim that the attacker was a passenger in the taxi that the now-deceased man was driving.
Reports are that during the argument, the taxi driver pulled to the side of the road close to the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Patrick Drive.
Indications are that the taxi driver was subsequently stabbed several times by the man with whom he was arguing.
The attacker then fled the scene.
Minutes later, other taxi operators who were traveling along the roadway arrived at the location and rushed with the injured man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
