Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited has advised that it will be making strategic changes in its investment management operations through the restructure of Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL), effective July 31, 2020.

Consequently, the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL), held by Kevin Donaldson, will no longer be reflected in its organisational structure.

With this reorganisation, a new position of general manager will be created and Tara Nunes, who currently holds the position of vice president of the wealth management and client services, arm will be appointed to general manager, effective August 3, 2020.

Nunes will have overall day-to-day management responsibility of the Sagicor Investments and report directly to the Sagicor Jamaica Group President and CEO, Christopher Zacca.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Management and has over 20 years of experience in this field.

Nunes has held senior management positions in SIJL and formerly with Pan Caribbean Financial Services (PCFS) before her promotion to Vice President, with SIJL.

Donaldson, the outgoing CEO of Sagicor Investments, oversaw the introduction of two listed funds that tracked the performance of various indexes on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

The first fund tracked the performance of financial companies and raised $6.3 billion in a fund called Sagicor Select Funds Financial.

Then in December, it raised $2.5 billion to list a fund that tracked the manufacturing and distribution index called Sagicor Select Funds Manufacturing and Distribution.

These funds known as ETF in the US market are commonplace but not done before 2019.
