Take She's A Maneater in None Such Sprint

Horse of the Year SHE’S A MANEATER is the hot ante-post favourite for Saturday’s None Such Sprint at six furlongs, the seventh of 10 races on at Caymanas Park.

The classy filly beat five of her seven rivals – stablemates PERFECT NEIGHBOUR and SEEKING MY DREAM included – at seven furlongs in the Eros Trophy on July 28, winning by five and a half lengths.

Prior to that run, she suffered her third defeat in 16 starts, the first time in her career she had ever finished outside the top two, stumbling at the start of the Viceroy Trophy, late June, going nine furlongs.

That loss, however, was only for the records as she had already stamped her class as the most versatile horse in the country by beating the best sprinters when storming past SIEMPRE BUENO a half-furlong out to win May’s Lotto Sprint by three lengths.

Carrying 123lb in the Lotto Sprint, she beat MONEY MAGNET, SIEMPRE BUENO and CHACE THE GREAT, who have all returned for a rematch at better handicaps.

SIEMPRE BUENO has an eight-pound swing in his favour but the extra half-furlong won’t be to his liking against a class act such as SHE’S A MANEATER, who has her stablemate, speedy MR UNIVERSE, to run rivals into the ground.

SHE’s A MANEATER’s winning time in the Lotto Sprint, 1:05.2, was three-fifths of a second outside SAINT CECELIA and A KING IS BORN’s joint stakes record of 1:04.4.

With MR UNIVERSE expected to drag all and sundry off their bridles, SHE’S A MANEATER’s finishing speed, similar to when she pounced on SIEMPRE BUENO in the Lotto Sprint, will be too torrid to withstand under regular rider Omar Walker.
