Sygnus Credit, GWest led gains during Friday’s trading

GWest made the second highest gains on the day up 8.7 per cent to close at $1.7.
Sygnus Credit and GWest, two stocks trading most of the times below their listing prices, led gains during Friday's trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Sygnus gained 18.6 per cent to close at US$0.12. The stock closed its first day on the market in June 2018 at US$0.11.
GWest made the second highest gains on the day up 8.7 per cent to close at $1.75. GWest closed its first day on the market in December 2017 at $3.08.
The top declining stock went to Main Event down 13.6 per cent to close at $5.00.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 1,370.53 points (0.35 per cent) to close at 388,947.84. The Junior Market Index advanced by 19.51 points (0.63 per cent) to close at 3,127.87. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 4.87 points (2.88 per cent) to close at 173.83.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 58 stocks of which 26 advanced, 22 declined and 10 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 5,701,052 units valued at over $83,745,934.74. Lasco Distributors Limited was the volume leader with 865,988 units (15.19per cent) followed by Victoria Mutual with 557,353 units (9.78per cent) and Radio Jamaica Limited with 471,723 units (8.27per cent).
