Suspected Trafalgar/Waterloo road serial robber held by cops

The police have arrested a suspect who they believe has been behind a number of robberies at the traffic lights at Trafalgar and Waterloo roads in St Andrew.

The police said the alleged perpetrator was held during a recent operation.

His apprehension came after several motorists reported that they fell victim to attacks and robberies at the location.

Since the arrest, the Half-Way Tree police have appealed to members of the public who may have been victims of attacks and/or theft at the location to come forward.

The police said several informal reports were made about a man committing acts of simple larceny at nights at the traffic lights at the intersection.

 

According to the reports, the man usually pounces upon motorists when they come to a stop at the traffic lights at the intersection and snatch items such as cellular phones, handbags and jewellery from the vehicles and persons.

Investigators are now appealing to persons who fell victim to the man to give formal reports to the police.
