Support breast cancer awareness with these regional events
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and around the region, there will be many activities to create awareness about the disease.
According to a 2018 report from the Caribbean Public Health Agency, breast cancer is the main cause of cancer deaths among Caribbean females, accounting for 14 percent to 30 percent of cancer deaths.
Early detection of breast cancer is key to reducing mortality statistics along with education, screening, accurate diagnosis, and treatment.
The activities around the region are designed to educate women about the things they can do to reduce breast cancer deaths and to rains funds to help organisations continue their work in raising awareness.
