When the second annual Pikney Fest – Back to School Marketplace unfolds on Saturday August 17, several corporate entities from corporate Jamaica will be part of the execution.
Promoted by radio station SunCity 104.9FM, Pikney Fest - Back to School Marketplace is scheduled for the Portmore Mall from 10am to 6pm. The event will offer various products and services at a discounted cost to residents of Portmore and surrounding areas.
"Pikney Fest is positioned as a discount marketplace for school supplies, food, dental and barber services, free health checks and various options geared towards empowering families and by extension, the youth," said SunCity 104.9 FM’s Chairman Steve Billings.
Families will be able to conduct their back-to-school shopping, while enjoying some family time and networking with the brands they consume, which is an undertaking at an entirely different level. The event features free back to school medicals, free dental examinations, free haircuts, free offers and exclusive discounts for parents, teachers, and their classrooms.
Partners who have thrown their support behind the Pikney Fest initiative include top education, consumer, retail, and technology brands, such as Sangster’s Book Store, Carlong Publishers, Pascual Yogurt, Catherine’s Peak and Lanher (Massy Distribution); Children’s Cetamol and Children’s DPH (Kirk Distributors) Swiss and V8 (Cari-Med Limited) Malta, Aunt Vie’s, Wildrides, Jungle Fiah, Heart School of Beauty Services and the Dental Hygienists Association of Jamaica.
“As a parent, I know first-hand there is little choice but to spend your own money on quality food and school supplies for your children, so an initiative like Pikney Fest puts everything in one place at discounted rates and free access to services such as haircuts and dental is just perfect," Billings shared.
Pikney Fest will broadcast live over the airwaves of SunCity 104.9 FM. There will be entertainment in the form of performances from Digicel Rising Stars alum Jodian Pantry as well as Andre Shepherd, Moyann and popular social media comedian Knockis.
