Style Jamaica event transforms Montego Bay into a catwalk
One of the stunning White Lotus headpieces
Montego Bay will be transformed into a fashion catwalk for this week's anticipated Style Jamaica event.
The two-day extravaganza - which will see The Shoppes at Rose Hall turned into a wonderland of fashion, food and live music - will put the wares of 12 local designers firmly in the international spotlight.
But it's not just stunning clothes, swimwear and headpieces which will be on display - producers of authentic Jamaican products such as paintings, craft and food will also be wowing visitors with their unique talents.
And did we mention the live music who'll be providing the perfect backdrop to the event?
Style Jamaica, which takes place on December 12 and 13, is designed to attract local shoppers as well as tourists from the plethora of hotels in and around Montego Bay - and of course cruise ship passengers - all keen to shop local and snap up something uniquely Jamaican.
The event is the brainchild of the Government's Tourism Linkages Network and has been heralded as an opportunity for Jamaica to show off its authenticity in terms of fashion, food, art and entertainment.
Most people think sun, sea, sand and rum when they think of Jamaica - but events like Style Jamaica are aimed at broadening that opinion and establishing the island as a premier shopping destination.
Top local designers such as Safidah, Reve Jewellery, Amelia Morgandy, Flowerchild 1999, T&T Fashions, Pablo Palair, Mamayashi & King Blessed Original Arm Candy, White Lotus, Earl Williams, and Broadtail Designs will be showcasing their products over the two days - and there'll be so much more in store.
See you there!
