Student coder is bright star of Youth Can Do I.T. mentoring scheme

Ceejay McCalla is one of the bright young stars of Jamaica’s Youth Can Do I.T. (YCDI) mentoring programme.

Ceejay, who is a sixth form student and deputy head boy of Calabar High School, has become an expert coder since joining YCDI.

He built a local website for his school’s key club, only the second school to have its own website, and this major achievement saw him promoted to the prestigious position of District Webmaster for Key Club Jamaica.

But most notably, the young teen has actually built a computer game – based on the much-loved local Jamaican game, Dandy Shandy.
