Stick with Talented Tony K

In-form TALENTED TONY K goes for a hat-trick of wins in Saturday’s 1000-metre straight Reggae Trophy at Caymanas Park, partnered by lightweight front-running jockey Wesley Henry.

The speedy six-year-old gelding is the joint track record holder at 56.1 seconds for the snappy trips. He is on a hat-trick of wins having beaten Grade 1 in May’s Lotto Sprint, getting the better of CAMPESINO and CHACE THE GREAT at 1100 metres.

He followed up with victory in Open Allowance a week-and-a-half later, going all the way with topweight 56.0 kilos at 1000-metres straight.

TALENTED TONY K is drawn at post-position two but reports very light with 50.0 kilos. He is the fastest horse in the race and, facing only four rivals, should have no problems commanding a lane in mid-track.

Key to his bid will be the handicaps, returning to Grade 1 with a mere 50.0 kilos, the exact weight with which he had won the Lotto Sprint.

SEEKING MY DREAM has topweight 57.0 kilos and arguably the best draw, widest, but has not trained much losing to CAMPESINO and GARY GLITTER in the April 1 Lady Geeta Trophy at 1200 metres.

CAMPESINO has a 10lb swing for a length-and-a-quarter loss to TALENTED TONY K in the Lotto Sprint but has a tendency to give away lengths at the start.

GARY GLITTER has a similar running style to CAMPESINO but he, too, is most comfortable sitting off the pace and pouncing in the latter half of races

However, neither can afford to relax at 1000-metre straight with no matching speed to test TALENTED TONY K.

Post time for the Reggae Trophy is 5:10 p.m. The first of 11 races runs off at 12:10 p.m.
