Stewart’s Automotive Group has officially opened a state-of-the-art facility for its Jaguar Land Rover luxury brands under the Stewart Auto Gallery dealership.

Touted as a one of its kind in the Caribbean, the US$17 million, full-service dealership effortlessly stands out on Arthur Wint Drive in Kingston, boasting a design that is sleek, timeless and contemporary.

Spanning over 5,000 square metres, the five-storey facility is built around Jaguar Land Rover’s new corporate identity, which puts customers at the heart of the retail experience with exciting architectural innovation and a stylish, eye-catching theme. Both Jaguar and Land Rover’s range of vehicles are showcased inside the new building, and there is an interactive reception zone that allows each customer to be involved in his or her car diagnostics.

Commending Stewart’s Automotive Group for the investment, Prime Minister Andrew Holness, said the showroom "... is tangible evidence of the high level of business confidence in the economy. It is also representative of a high level of consumer confidence."

"Jaguar and Land Rover are two marquis luxury brands. People buy luxury vehicles when they know that the economy is growing and are confident about their future earnings prospects," Holness continued during  his keynote address at the Grand Opening last Wednesday.

"While much has been accomplished over the last four years, and the Jamaican people must be congratulated for the role they have played in rebuilding the economy, there is still much more to be done. We must continue our progress towards peace and prosperity.”

Meanwhile, Duncan Stewart, Director of Stewart’s Automotive Group beamed: “We are delighted to represent Jaguar Land Rover in Jamaica in such a big way with a stunning new facility that will greatly enhance the customer experience.

“Stewart’s Automotive Group is already a major employer in Jamaica, and through this new facility, we’re proud to have worked with an amazing team of local contractors and their team from the surrounding area to deliver this state-of-the art building that we’re all standing in this evening. On behalf of the Stewart’s Automotive Group and Jaguar Land Rover family, I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has played a role in the successful completion of our showroom BPO facility."

BPO Opportunities

The Jaguar Land Rover dealership occupies the first two storeys of the facility, while the remaining three floors, plus a roof designed for gym, cafeteria and entertainment, is earmarked for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operations. The three storeys is comprised of 34,938 square feet of usable space and includes energy saving options (solar system), stand-by generator and ample parking among the amenities.

Speaking of the BPO opportunities that exist within the all-new Jaguar Land Rover facility, Jackie Stewart Lechler, Director of Stewart’s Automotive Group, said: “The BPO sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the global business landscape and we’re excited to be entering this market that will allow us to create both direct and indirect employment for hundreds of Jamaicans right here in this facility. We’re therefore looking forward to welcoming our new neighbours.”
