St Thomas pair charged with Canadian couple's murder again remanded
The couple, who is charged with the murder of a Jamaican-Canadian couple in Retreat, St Thomas earlier this year, was remanded when they made their first appearance in the St Thomas Circuit Court on Monday.
Twenty-five-year-old Fabian Skervin and his girlfriend, Nekkia Thompson are charged for two counts of murder and robbery with aggravation.
The court was told that the forensic and DNA reports remain outstanding.
As a result, Skervin and Thompson were ordered by Justice Sharon George to be brought back to court on Monday, July 23.
Melbourne Flake, 81, and his 70 year-old wife Etta, were found dead at their vacation home on January 9.
Police reported that on Tuesday, January 9, at about 10:30 am, the Flakes were found at their home, motionless with their hands and feet bound.
Flake was observed to have sustained head wounds, while his wife was said to have been suffocated.
Following investigations, Skervin and Thompson were picked up at a house in the Seaforth Housing Scheme in St Thomas on Wednesday, February 7.
They were subsequently charged.
